A imaginacao portuguesa nao tem limites!!! Talvez se refira ao "querido Saraiva de Otelo" o tipo que "seria" o Fidelito portugues... e a sua "efectiva militância ... " na Mocidade Portuguesa do Estado Novo!!!!

"These three conceptions of life form the foundation of all the religious that exist or have existed.

The motive power of his life is glory. His religion consists in the exaltation of the glory of those who are allied to him--the founders of his family, his ancestors, his rulers--and in worshiping gods who are exclusively protectors of his clan, his family, his nation, his government [see Footnote].

The man who holds the divine theory of life recognizes life not in his own individuality, and not in societies of individualities (in the family, the clan, the nation, the tribe, or the government), but in the eternal undying source of life--in God; and to fulfill the will of God he is ready to sacrifice his individual and family and social welfare. Muitas acusações podem impender sobre o passado do Papa Bento XVI. Todavia, uma delas não lhe pode ser assacada. Vejo, irreflectidamente, alguns críticos a destacarem a sua pertença à "Juventude Hitleriana" enquanto criança/jovem. A eles digo: Tenham juízo! Considerem a natureza da época histórica. onde as crianças eram desde cedo fortemente ideologizadas [possuo cartilhas de leitura nazistas que o atestam] e obrigadas a ingressar nessa organização sem direito a contestação. E mesmo que o tivessem não teriam maturidade para tal. A estes críticos (eventualmente alguns perfilaram a organização da "Mocidade Portuguesa" e confessam-no saudosisticamente), a inclusão involuntária de uma criança numa organização cuja dimensão não estava ao alcance da sua compreensão parece ser um pecado de lesa-pátria... Tenham juízo!

Quanto à capacidade de uma criança ou de um adolescente de recusarem a pressão social para ingressarem na Juventude Hitleriana reconheço que seria bastante limitada.

Contudo, Ratzinger não se limitou a ingressar. Participou activamente em várias operações militares (guarnição de AAs) e paramilitares (construções de defesas militares na Hungria). Observou de perto o tratamento que recebiam escravos judeus, e quando adullto tornou-se num homem com posições ultraconservadoras (como as suas entrevistas, declarações e controlo da "nova Inquisição" demonstram. Se não é hoje um Nazi, nada prova que não seja um cripto-nazi, e se não é um cripto-nazi é pelo menos - certamente - um homem muito mais conservador que qualquer outro dos cardeais que apareciam como "papáveis" e até mais que o próprio JPII que também o era. E se é assim tão conservador a sua anterior participação na Juventude Hitleriana não o terá influenciado?
